Ozark takes both 4 x 200 relays (Track roundup)

BRANSON — Ozark swept the 4 x 200 relay at the Super Conference Track Meet on Friday.
The meet was halted after 14 events due to rain and lightning.
Ozark won the boys 4 x 200 relay (1:32) and the girls 4 x 200 relay (1:51). The boys 4 x 200 relay was made up of Hunter Tremain, Tyler Calhoun, Eric Luebbert and Skylar Verfuth. The girls 4 x 200 relay included Lauren Bostian, Stormie Carter, Sydney Potts and Samantha Dexter. The Lady Tigers’ Ellie Schmidly took first in the 100 hurdles (17.52) and Josie Dyke was first in the 100 (12.97).
Host Branson received firsts from Cameron Chancey in the 110 hurdles (15.12) and Michael Dapprich in the discus (130−2).
Bolivar’s girls 4 x 800 relay (10:09) that included Delaney Peterson, Amanda Lightfoot, Ashley Lawson and Rachel Schrader was victorious.
Nixa’s Steven Hynds was first in the shot put (49−8.75).

Nixa’s Keeney among those to sign letters of intent

Nixa’s Jordan Keeney will continue his football career at Central Missouri State, after signing a letter of intent with the Mules.
Keeney, the Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division Offensive Player of the Year last fall, is expected to stay at running back for Central Missouri State.
The Eagles’ Skyler Brown, an offensive lineman, signed with Ottawa (Kan.).
Ozark’s Tom Ligion signed with Arkansas State’s track team and hopes to compete in the decathalon.
The Tigers’ Keaton Patterson, a linebacker, signed to play football at Southwest Baptist.
Carthage’s Trevor Hole signed with Evangel and plans to play football and compete in track.

Neosho girls take Carthage team title

CARTHAGE — Neosho won the girls team title by 82 points at the Carthage Invitational on Tuesday.
Carthage’s boys won the 4 x 800 relay (8:30), its girls won the 4 x 100 relay (52.5), Stefan Stokes won the 110 hurdles (16.4), Evans Adams won the 400 (51.24) and Billy Mendell won the 3,200 (10:19).
Neosho’s girls took the 4x 400 relay (4:16), 4 x 800 relay (10:26), while Morgan Rathamn won the 100 (12.72), 200 (26.65) and 400 (1:02.43), Jessica Jackson won the 800 (2:20.99) and 1,600 (5:16), Courtney Wood won the 3,200 (11:46), Jayde Thomas won the 300 hurdles (49.56), Chet Hall won the 300 hurdles (43.68), Marcus Middleton won the shot put (48−8) and Emily Paulis won the triple jump (34−2.5).
Firsts for Webb City included its boys 4 x 100 relay (44.93), girls 4 x 200 relay (1:51.75), boys 4 x 200 relay (1:33.21), Katie Box in the 100 hurdles (15.8), Slade Byford in the triple jump (40−7.5) and Boo Rodgers in the high jump (6−2).

Lady Wolves win Aurora Relays (Track roundup)

AURORA — Reeds Spring’s girls track team captured first place at the Aurora Relays on Thursday.
The Lady Wolves received firsts from Abbey Vernon in the 400 (1:04.48), Shannon Allen in the 200 (28.19), Casey Williams in the discus (89−1) and Krystal Stump in the 100 hurdles (17.08). Stump was second in the 300 hurdles (52.58).
Thirds for the Lady Wolves included Allen in the 400 (1:06.88), Samantha Akromis in the 800 (2:43) and high jump (4−8), Williams in the shot put (27−8), Alexis Haynes in the 100 (13.55), Schmidt in the 3,200 (13:10) and Sabra Boes, Haynes, Allen and Vernon in the 4 x 100 relay (50.51).
The Wolves’ first-place finishers weer Dominic Smith in the 100 (11.79) and 200 (23.7), Zach Branch in the 400 (52.9), Ben Selby in the 800 (2:02), Dylan Weber in the 110 hurdles (16.59) and Selby, Aaron Allphin, Austin Burke and Branch in the 4 x 400 relay (3:27). Weber was runner-up in the 300 hurdles (44.03).

Reeds Spring 4 x 400 relay wins (Track roundup)

NIXA — Reeds Spring’s 4 x 400 relay of Sam Akromis, Cheyenne Randle, Shannon Allen and Abbey Vernon took first (4:15) to highlight the Lady Wolves’ showing at the Nixa Relays on Tuesday.
Krystal Stump was third in the 100 hurdles (17.3).
The Wolves’ Ben Selby was first in the 800 (2:01). He ran the opening leg on the 4 x 200 relay that was second (1:34.9). Dominc Smith was third in the 200 (24.1), as was Reeds Spring’s 4 x 400 relay (3:44).

Host Liberators runner-up at own relays (Boys track roundup)

BOLIVAR — Bolivar totaled 115 points while being edged by Camdenton by five points for the team title at the Bolivar Relays on Thursday.
Bolivar received seconds from Manny Ofori-Yeboah in the 110 hurdles (15.9) and Ryan Kutju in the 300 hurdles (42.51) and its 4 x 200 relay (1:34.98). The Liberators’ Mitchell Waters was third in the 400 (53.22), as was Ofori-Yeboah in the high jump (5−10), Jake Hartley i the shot put (42−1), Jacob Jones in the 800 (2:05) and Garrett Evans in the 1,600 (4:55) and its 4 x 400 relay (3:37).
Branson’s Josh Morgan took first in the pole vault (15−0), as did Keaton Knudson in the triple jump (4−0.75). The Pirates’ Joe Vu was second in the long jump (19−8.5), as was Johnny Onoh in the shot put (42−4).
Republic’s Jacob Cooper was third in the 100 (11.73).
Buffalo’s Justin Simmons was second in the 400 (52.95), as was the Bison’s 4 x 400 relay (3:33) and 4 x 800 relay (8:47).
Republic takes team title (Girls track roundup)

BOLIVAR — Republic’s girls track team claimed the Bolivar Relays championship on Thursday.
Republic’s Sharla Friend took first in the high jump (5−3). The Lady Tigers’ Hailey Willis was second in the 1,600 (5:45), as was Alex Botkin in the 100 hurdles (17.19) and 300 hurdles (49.66), Jeanna Beck in the discus (105−11), Clarissa Watkins in the 100 (13.65) and Miranda Cunningham in the pole vault (8−6). Their 4 x 800 relay (11:00) was third.
Host Bolivar received firsts from Rachel Schrader in the 3,200 (11:50) and its 4 x 800 relay (10:36.32). The Lady Liberators’ 4 x 400 relay (4:25.72) finished second. Their 4 x 100 relay was third (54.3), as was their 4 x 200 relay (1:55.20), Elizabeth Wharton in the pole vault (8−6) and Ashley Payne in the 100 hurdles (17.31).
Firsts for Branson included Gabby Ruddick in the 400 (1:03), Michaela Dapprich in the discus (119−5) and Shelby Shields in the pole vault (9−0). Ruddick was second in the high jump (5−2) and Dapprich was second in the shot put (35−5). The Lady Pirates’ Brianna Winn was third in the long jump (14−10.25) and triple jump (31−1.75)
Marshfield’s Jessica Stepp captured first in the long jump (16−8.75). The Lady Jays’ 4 x 400 relay (4:26.08) was third.
Buffalo was led by Brittany Glasscock, who was second in the triple jump (31−11.25).
